Emma Blazey
Emma has a background of over twenty years as a qualified and registered social worker. She has previously worked in London for over a decade in a Child Protection service before returning to Christchurch.
Emma currently works at Te Whatu Ora in an Adult Specialist Mental Health Outpatient Service. One of her roles is as the Social Work Specialist in her outpatient team, and her other role is as an MBT accredited therapist in the MindSight Programme. She has been working as an MBT therapist in the MindSight Programme since 2019, a psychodynamic programme comprising of both individual and group therapy for people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Complex Post Traumatic Disorder (CPTSD). She is available in a part-time capacity as a counsellor for sensitive claims.
Emma’s interests and experience are in the field of trauma, attachment, mental health, personality vulnerabilities, neurodiversity, dissociation, as well as working with families and children. Currently she works with adults, mainly females.
Emma is a member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers and registered with the Social Workers Registration Board. She identifies as NZ European with she/her as her pronouns.
