Laura Christie

Kia ora! Ko Laura taku ingoa. I have over 15 years’ experience working in social services, almost ten of those years as a Registered Social Worker. I hold an MA in Social Work and am registered with the Social Workers Registration Board. I am committed to providing ethical and culturally responsive social work support to everyone I work with.This has included working across various fields, including schools, residential care and protection settings, mental health, and with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

In my social work practice, I enjoy working alongside individuals to identify their strengths, navigate challenges and achieve the goals that matter most to them. I am client-led and work in a mana-enhancing and strengths-based way. My practice is grounded in relationship, empathy and encouraging self-determination. I am committed to creating safe, collaborative spaces where people feel supported to navigate life’s challenges and work towards their goals. I value building genuine relationships and recognise that seeking support can sometimes feel daunting. I strive to create an environment where people feel comfortable being themselves and moving at a pace that feels right for them.
