Mayuri Samant

Mayuri is a registered counsellor with experience supporting adults experiencing the impacts of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, and other mental health concerns. She has worked across both New Zealand and India, providing support to people from diverse cultural, social, and personal backgrounds.

Mayuri has a particular interest in trauma recovery and understands that healing extends beyond talking about difficult experiences. Her therapeutic approach recognises the connection between the mind, body, and nervous system, helping clients better understand their responses, develop emotional regulation skills, and build a stronger sense of safety, self-awareness, and resilience.

Her practice is collaborative, client-centred, and grounded in evidence-informed approaches, integrating person-centred, strengths-based, solution-focused, and somatic-informed principles. She works alongside clients at a pace that feels safe, recognising that every person's journey is unique and that meaningful change happens through curiosity, compassion, and consistent small steps.Mayuri believes that therapy is not about 'fixing' people, but about helping them understand themselves with greater compassion, reconnect with their strengths, and move towards a life that feels meaningful and authentic.
